If you have yet to see Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax movie – you are in for a real treat. And, may I ask, what are you waiting for?
Last Saturday, I gathered up my three little ones, mixed in a nephew, topped it off with my husband and we all went to the movies. Now, I must admit that I was not at all familiar with the Dr. Seuss book The Lorax and so did not have a clear idea as to what the premise for the story was. But from posts found on FB depicting The Lorax inspired edible creations as shared by Sweetopia and Kitchen fun with my 3 sons , I knew if involved fluffy trees and an orange creature with a mustache.
Let me just say…loved, loved, loved and still do love, this movie! From the bright colors and music to the characters and the story, it was truly magical. This is the first movie that my three year old has managed to sit through yet.
So of course, since I was so enamored with this movie, the next logical step for a cookie store owner would be to create Lorax themed cookies, yes? Yes! First item on the list was to decide on which of the many movie design were to be included. Bring in the three young one’s and here is what we came up with.
It begins with ‘the boy’
Who likes a girl (Audrey)
Who paints a mural of Truffula trees because all she wants it to see a real live tree.
The boy then gets on his motorcycle to go meet a man about a tree.
[ a one wheel motorcycle..soooo cool!]
The man tells of a story about The Lorax
who speaks for the trees
during a time where fish sang
and bears danced.
and to make a long (adorable) story short. In the end ‘the boy’ gets a seed… {tear}
and they plant a tree, or two or three!
Now credit for these wonderful confectionery creations go to my uber talented cookie decorator, Cat – who has yet to see the movie, but hopes to go to a theater near her soon!
